I have bought a couple of my former micro planes (Shoestring Micro) from Willy Nillies, and decided to buy the Pee Jay 250 too, a speed plane for the 020 COX size powerplants.
This is a laser cut kit, assembles real quick, and is cut and made from the best quality balsa I have ever laid my hands upon.
The design comes with 2 hatches, one on the bottom, that I finally decided to omit for the sake of retaining structural strength of the fuselage, and the canopy is also removable; I will keep it in place with a tiny but strong magnet..I made it to control through 3 channels, elevator, ailerons and throttle ring on the COX TeeDee020..color schemes to resonate with that of the Tee Dee 020 engine...the transparent film leaves the skeleton half naked like an actress on the red carpet of an Oscar gala..
Pretty jammed inside, but having room in the nose for a party balloon tank holding 20 ccm fuel, good for a 8min or so flight.
A single cell 600mAh on-board battery with a Futaba receiver constitute the electronics, along with EMAX metal gear servos (after tons of servos already dumped for early failures, EMAX is found the best brand for my micro and 1/2A size RC planes)
The dry all-up weight is 202 grams..
Waiting for the strong winds to subside, I will maiden it and will report back hopefully soon
